" I do not understand the mystery of grace- only that it meets us where we are, but does not leave us where it found us." Anne LaMott
Some people are born leaders and instinctively know they are destined for a purpose greater than themselves, Tanya Copprue is one such person. Working to help others has been a part of Tanya Copprue's life for as long as she can remember. There are not many who start a career of compassion so early in life.
At the tender age of 9 and eager to learn, think, and do Tanya attended community meetings of a local grass roots group called the " Talking Drum" with her father. It was there she developed her love for getting involved with her community and sparked her passion for helping others to help themselves. She marched and protested alongside her father at a very young age against apartheid, corporations refusing to reinvest in her community, and many other socio-economic plights. When her father and members of the " Talking Drum" decided to form an after-school program for local children, Tanya was the first one to volunteer to take fliers to her school and help to register kids after school.
By age of eleven Tanya began volunteering as a young community organizer working with the Eastern Service Workers Association, (ESWA) a non-profit agency focused on providing emergency services such as food, clothing, shelter, political and economical advocacy and education. It was at ESWA Tanya learned she had a gift of public speaking when she was able to move and quiet large crowds that seemed impressed by the young volunteer, so passionate for the cause.
Committed to service and influenced by her early experiences led her to work in the field of education. Tanya worked as an educator in the New Jersey Public School System for over 10 years.
Eventually, her desire to understand the whole person led her to the field of mental health where she worked for several years. Tanya Copprue currently serves as the Volunteer NJ State Coordinator for the Love Foundation, an organization whose mission is to spread the message of unconditional love.
She has assumed various roles in the social service field such as Child & Family Therapist, Program Director for non-profit community programs, and Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) Chairperson for Mental health housing respectively.

Tanya's Philosophy:
" We are not who others say we are, we are who God says we are. Our future is determined by our willingness and desire to grow, change our lives for the better, and live prosperously. All things living must continue to grow, if something does not continue to grow it becomes stunted, decays, and eventually dies. Like seeds planted to become a mighty Baobab tree, giving life to many as it develops its own ecosystem, so are we to live life in abundance and give back to others. We do this by adapting a healthy lifestyle of mind, body, and soul/spirit.When we are balanced we can begin to prosper and every area of our life will flourish."
