Holistic Healing
" I used to believe that we must choose between science and reason on one hand, and spirituality on the other, in how we lead our lives. Now I consider this a false choice. We can recover the sense of sacredness, not just in science, but in perhaps every area of life." - Larry Dossey, M.D.
What is Holistic Health?
Holistic Health is actually an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, this ancient approach to health considers the whole person and how he or she interacts with his or her environment. It emphasizes the connection of mind, body, and spirit. The goal is to achieve maximum well-being, where everything is functioning the very best that is possible.
Ancient healing traditions, as far back as 5,000 years ago in India and China, stressed living a healthy way of life in harmony with nature. Socrates (4th century BC) warned against treating only one part of the body "for the part can never be well unless the whole is well." Although the term holism was introduced by Jan Christiaan Smuts in 1926 as a way of viewing living things as "entities greater than and different from the sum of their parts," it wasn't until the 1970s that holistic became a common adjective in our modern vocabulary.
We live in a society that does very little to encourage true healing and wellness, since it is not profitable to do so. At Prosperous Soul Spiritual Wellness Services one of our number one goals is the education of people concerning holistic health partnerships, and alternatives, as well as providing holistic healing and wellness services. It is our absolute comittment to create total wellness of the mind body, and spirit.
True healing can only be done on the Spiritual Level
One of the most important discoveries of the human race is the knowledge that true healing can only take place on the spiritual level. Kabbalah teaches that when physical illness occur, it is a manifestation of a spiritual disconnection. Shammanic teaching is based on the belief that all healing begins in the spiritual dimension.
The body follows divine law, which is spiritual law. If one is to bring true healing and total wellness to their body, it is a must to also include the spiritual aspect of oneself. This cannot be over-stated enough!

A: Your inner voice will let you know exactly what you need, as well as paying attention to your body, emotions, and other symptoms. In truth you know the answers, but guidance is often necessary when we are unfamiliar with holistic health practices. Seek the advise of a qualified holistic health provider, generally those that offer free consultations. The Holistic Health Practitioner's goals should always be the wellness goals of the client, and he or she cannot discover what those are, let alone know what the client may need, or whether or not they can treat the client unless they listen first. Listening should not cost a thing.
A: You must decide what your healing goals are. Are you looking for wellness or temporary healing, or just alleviation from pain. If it is total wellness you want then you must release the fear and search for the inner truth within, and be willing to do the work. Seek consultation from a qualified holistic professional that will be able to guide you to the proper path. Please remember to look into the credentials and qualifications of the practitioner, just as you would any doctor. If they cannot, or are unwilling to provide this information, move on to someone who can. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own healing, and the results will greatly be determined by your intentions for healing and wellness. "Namaste"
